How do I purchase tickets? Tickets for performances at the Confederation Centre of the Arts can be purchased: In person at the Box Office, located at the corner of Queen Street and Grafton Street in Charlottetown
return to top How do I get to the theatre? The Confederation Centre of the Arts is located in downtown Charlottetown and is bordered by Grafton, Queen and Richmond Streets. The Box Office and Main Entrance is located at the corner of Queen and Grafton Streets. The Homburg Theatre, Studio Theatre, and Outdoor Amphitheatre, Art Gallery and Mavor's Restuarant are all located within the main complex. The Mack Theatre is located one block from the main complex at the corner of University and Grafton Streets. return to top Is Confederation Centre wheelchair accessible? The Confederation Centre is wheelchair accessible via the Queen Street entrance and the Richmond Street entrance. return to top Can I take pictures of the show? Please leave the photography to us. The use of cameras or recording devices of any kind is strictly prohibited. This includes all 35mm, video, digital, digital video and cellular phone devices. return to top Do I have to purchase tickets in advance or can I wait until I arrive at the theatre? We recommend you purchase tickets no later than two weeks prior to a performance date. Shows may be cancelled due to inclement weather. If this does occur, our regular policies regarding exchanges and refunds will be in effect. return to top What benefits will I receive by becoming a member of the Confederation Centre of the Arts? Members of the Confederation Centre of the Arts first and foremost receive the satisfaction of supporting a nationally recognized arts organization. Tax receipts are given to members and, depending on their level of support, additional benefits including exclusive theatre offers, and invitations to a variety of events are also available. If you would like to have your tickets mailed to you, please advise the guest services agent prior to completing your ticket reservation. A $2.00 minimum charge will be added to your total order for ticket mailing. return to top What is the Capital Improvement Fee (CIF) that appears on my theatre ticket receipt? It is standard practice in theatre business to have a Capital Improvement Fee or CIF charged on each individual ticket. Some theatres call them Patron Fees, some Restoration fees. The CIF helps sustain the upkeep of the building and services we are able to provide to our guests. This revenue will continue to allow us to improve our facility for all to enjoy. Please note that effective April 1, 2011, a $1.00 Capital Improvement Fee will be added to all tickets sold for performances at The Mack or Studio 1. return to top What is the Service Fee that appears on my theatre ticket receipt? A service charge of $3.00 is applied to each theatre ticket purchased for a Confederation Centre of the Arts performance. This fee assists with the everyday operation of the box office, which includes telephone fees, computer systems, etc. return to top Do you sell gift certificates? Yes. Gift certificates can be bought at our box office counter, by calling 1-800-565-0278 or you can purchase gift cards online 24 hours a day at www.charlottetownfestival.com return to top How early should we arrive? We recommend you arrive at least 35 minutes prior to the performance. Those arriving late for the performance will be seated by our staff during an appropriate break in the performance. return to top Why does the Confederation Centre of the Arts request donations when I already pay for performances? Ticket and tuition revenues cover only about 35% of the costs of operating the Confederation Centre of the Arts. While the Confederation Centre of the Arts receives some scholarship support from civic and social agencies, the majority of charitable gifts come from people, like you, who believe in the value of the arts in our community. A tax receipt will be issued for donations. return to top How long is the performance? There are three parking garages located within walking distance of the theatre.
return to top What is a preview performance? Previews are theatre performances typically at the beginning of a production run that allow the director and production team to make changes or adjustments to the production before the production is reviewed by media on what is referred to as opening night. Most productions have several previews. Previews are a great opportunity to see a production in its infancy, and typically for less than a regular priced ticket would cost. Preview performance tickets can be purchase at the box office by calling 1-800-565-0278 or anytime online at www.charlottetownfestival.com return to top Do you have any hearing devices? The theatre is equipped with an infra-red listening system. Receivers may be obtained from our staff on a first-come-first-served basis. return to top Can I bring my own food and drinks into the theatre? All snacks and refreshments purchased on site at concessions and at Mavor’s Coffee counter are permitted into the theatre. For most of our performances, refreshments and snacks are available 30 minutes prior to performance and during intermission. Alcoholic beverages are also served at some of our performances. A maximum of two alcoholic drinks per patron are permitted at one time into the theatre during any performance. Alcoholic beverages will only be served to those 19 years of age or older and patrons may be asked to show identification when purchasing alcoholic beverages. return to top What should I wear to a theatre performance? Is there a dress code for the theatre? We encourage our patrons to be comfortable in our theatres. There is no formal dress code but we do remind you to please refrain from wearing scents of any kind at the Confederation Centre of the Arts. return to top Can I get a refund on my theatre tickets if I am unable to attend the performance? We will gladly return or exchange any ticket up to the last business day PRIOR to the performance (unless otherwise noted) minus a $3 service charge per ticket. For ticket returns, the balance will be issued on a Confederation Centre Gift Card, less the $3 service charge per ticket. There are no returns or exchanges on or after the day of the performance. return to top How can I redeem a gift card? Gift Cards can be used for The Charlottetown Festival or Live at the Centre productions. They can also be redeemed at Mavor’s Restaurant, The Showcase Gift Shop or for arts education programs. All gift certificates must be redeemed either in person or by phone. If you are using your gift certificate over the phone a credit card may be needed to reserve your seats. If your total order is more than the value of your gift certificate the difference must be charged to a credit card. Gift certificates cannot be used when purchasing tickets online. return to top How can I redeem a voucher for tickets? You can redeem your voucher in person or book your tickets over the phone. If booking over the phone a credit card may be needed to reserve your seats. Vouchers cannot be redeemed online. Just a reminder that vouchers are not tickets and do not guarantee seating. return to top How do I request a donation from the Confederation Centre of the Arts for my charitable cause? Tickets can be reprinted at the box office for a nominal fee. The Confederation Centre of the Arts welcomes children old enough to enjoy our performances. Please contact the box office for details.
