Name A Seat

Create a legacy. Make a memory. Honour a loved one. Make your mark at the Centre...
The Homburg Theatre at Confederation Centre of the Arts was showing its age and the wear and tear it has endured over the past half-century. As it was designed and constructed in the 1960s, and relatively untouched since then, the theatre no longer meets present-day building and safety codes, with its rigging and staging systems based on old and out-of-date technologies. The situation posed serious hazards.

YOUR GIFT will help us meet and exceed current codes for the comfort, safety, and enjoyment of audiences, performers, and crew.
WITH YOUR HELP we will reach and excel in accessibility standards, as well as possess the capability to be a recognized national theatre institution fit for the 21st century. Thanks to generous support from all levels of government, Confederation Centre is responsible for raising 10% of the total cost of renovations, or $1.6 million.

Together through the Name a Seat initiative, we have raised more than $750,000 to date to develop a theatre that we can all continue to be proud of, a centre for excellence and inclusivity that leads the way in modern artistic practice, offering updated facilities within a building that is an important asset in the rich cultural heritage of our city.
We are now entering the final phase of extensive renovations which will ensure the theatre remains a state-of-the-art facility and can continue welcoming you and your family for another 50 years of enchanting performance memories.

A unique and personal way to make a dedication. Engraved seat plaques offer you the chance to become part of the fabric of this amazing and iconic theatre.
Whatever your personal reasons for naming a seat, your gift will make a real difference and will help ensure that Confederation Centre of the Arts continues to play an exciting role for future generations to enjoy.
Tax-receiptable gifts start at $1,000 and can be paid over your preferred period of time in convenient installments. For example, you may choose to name a seat with a gift of $50* a month; your chosen words will be engraved onto a beautiful brass plaque and affixed to one of the handsome new seats in the historic Homburg Theatre auditorium. Plaques remain in place for a decade, commemorating the named person's love for extraordinary performances long into the future. You will also receive recognition in our house programs and website, as well as a one-year family membership to Confederation Centre of the Arts.
*A gift of $1,000 over 20 equal monthly payments
