Sixth annual ‘Cute as a...' button event at the Confederation Centre Art Gallery

March 26, 2013

(Charlottetown, P.E.) - The popular ‘Cute as a...' button exhibition will take place April 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Confederation Centre Art Gallery.

This evening gathering has become an annual gallery tradition at the Gallery in which guests trade and collect uniquely designed 1.25" buttons. 30 distinctive buttons were recently selected from over 100 submissions from artists from many different provinces. The entire collection will be exhibited at the Gallery before and during the event.
Guests are invited to join in on this button-trading extravaganza. For $10, each participant can choose five buttons for trading. "Every button seems to have its own 'personality'," says Barbara Bovaird, IB Educator at Colonel Gray High School, and an event regular. "Picking a favourite depends on your mood - it's great fun."

Guests can also enjoy refreshments, a cash bar and an encore performance from The Misled Uke-a Charlottetown-based, ukulele group, who was the highlight of last year's event. Tickets can be purchased at the Confederation Centre Box Office or at the Gallery door, on the night of the event. For more information contact Gail Hodder, visual arts educator at
