The Kitchen WitchesJuly 13, 2012 - September 15, 2012
7:30 p.m. Tickets starting at $25
The Kitchen Witches will be stirring up laughter with the talents of its two leading ladies. Festival veterans Glenda Landry and Susan Johnston-Collins bring more than just acting abilities to their roles in this Canadian comedy. Both are self-proclaimed "foodies" and look forward to infusing their characters with their own experiences in the kitchen.
The play's twisting farcical plot concerns rival cooking show hosts Dolly (Johnston-Collins) and Isobel (Landry) who, following an on-air dust-up, find themselves sharing the kitchen and the spotlight on a new hit TV show. The Kitchen Witches is described as "Jerry Springer meets Martha Stewart."
When our audiences step into Studio 1 this summer, they will become part of a live TV broadcast. Audiences are advised to bring an appetite and a sense of humour. Written by Canadian playwright Caroline Smith. Caroline Smith has been involved in most aspects of theatre since 1979, first as a performer with The Charlottetown Festival and the Canadian Opera Company, then as a choreographer, playwright, director and producer, becoming one of Canada's busiest freelance professionals. |
